Before there was a film, there was the blog. Check out posts dating back to the inception of the project in April 2008.

New York Times Magazine - The Food Issue

Required reading, brought to you by the libural media, the old grey lady, the New York Times. Inside you'll find a great essay by my favorite writer/chef Mark Bittman about how Americans are finally starting to take food seriously, and a remarkably prescient letter to the next president by Michael Pollan about why and how food matters to all other issues of governance - the economy, health care, global warming. It's eye opening stuff and it's just the tip of the iceburg. Lets hope our next president understands the relationship between foodways, national health, oil consumption, trade deficits, economic markets, and homeland security. Maybe it's time for a cabinent level post called "Czar of Food." Sounds a little apocolyptic but not completely out of the question...

It's worth a visit just for the cool pictures alone!
